A taste of tradition: The sister restaurant of Bait Maryam, Sufret Maryam translates as 'Maryam's dining table' – and it's a name befitting of what this forward-thinking yet heritage-led restaurant stands for. Here, local ingredients and time-tested flavours are elevated using innovative culinary techniques, all in a space that exudes warmth, conviviality and traditional Levantine hospitality.
Continuing a legacy: The nostalgic, home-like restaurant is helmed by Salam Dakkak, the winner of the Sevenrooms Icon Award 2026, as part of MENA's 50 Best Restaurants. . Its menu is an extension of what she wanted to achieve from her first venture, exploring broader Middle Eastern cuisine, focusing on delightfully intricate flavours and documenting centuries of culture through expertly crafted dishes.
What's on the table? From mezze to mains, each of Sufret Maryam's offerings has a story to tell – and a modern twist to pique your palate. Take your pick from the likes of romaneye (lentils, aubergine, pomegranate juice, garlic and onion), kubbet Maryam (Lebanese national dish kibbeh with tenderloin meat and a pomegranate-tamarind sauce) and la'moshet Maryam: slow-cooked lamb shoulder with spices and za'atar chimichurri.
A final flourish: The adventure doesn't stop there. Sufret Maryam's desserts are just as exciting as its main courses, ensuring intrepid eaters leave the premises on a gastronomic high. Save room for sweets such as labneh brûlée (labneh with sumac, za'atar ice cream, an olive-oil crumble and a sesame crunch) and rez bel haleeb (rice pudding with pumpkin jam and caramelised nuts).
