A homegrown success story: One of the UAE's most celebrated dining concepts, the original 3 Fils opened in Dubai in 2016 – and in 2025, it spawned a long-awaited second location in The Abu Dhabi Edition hotel overlooking the city's yacht-strewn Al Bateen marina. Cool and contemporary, the waterfront spot brings the same modern Asian cuisine and community-style dining to the capital, with a handful of exclusive creations to seek out.

Remind me what it's about? Bold, umami-rich Asian dishes with Japanese influences, prepared in an open kitchen and served in sleek surrounds. Expect a casual yet buzzy atmosphere, presided over by chefs in baseball caps and friendly, knowledgeable servers in T-shirts and trainers. The whole vibe is hip and creative, but unfussy and approachable: this is high-end food for everyone.

Familiar flavours: 3 Fils devotees will be pleased to know that favourite dishes like the melt-in-the-mouth wagyu sando, otoro tuna nigiri, Gyu Grab (a handheld dish of A5 wagyu and crispy nori) and Emo Fries (loaded with bluefin tuna, truffle oil and truffle shavings) are back on the menu. Cult-classic karak ice cream, a UAE-inspired dessert that's prepared tableside, is available too.

And those new menu items? Only-in-Abu-Dhabi dishes include grilled black lime baby chicken with ponzu butter and sudachi fruit, a vanilla flan with blue cornflowers and edible 'snow', and a dessert cryptically titled 'Take Me to the Moon': a chocoholic's delight combining sponge cake, aerated frozen chocolate, salted caramel, hazelnut milk and a hazelnut-praline crunch.
